APRIL/MAY PRAYER DIARY

CrossReach

Pray for the ministry of Morlich House, a care home for older ladies in Morningside. Pray for the residents and staff, particularly at this challenging time dealing with the pandemic and the allowance of visitors.

Cramond Kirk

Pray for all those keeping the activities of the Kirk going during this difficult time. Pray for Ian, Moira, Louise and Edith as they seek to encourage us and also for the elders preparing talks for Daily Devotions. Pray for God’s blessing on the renewed church services that they might bring encouragement to all.

Christian Aid Week : 10 - 16 May

Pray for all the events and services happening in Christian Aid Week, face to face and online. Pray that they will create a sense of connection and joy for churches and communities here in the UK and across the world.

Church of Scotland General Assembly

The Church of Scotland General Assembly for 2021 will be held online for a second year. It will open on Saturday, 22 May with commissioners and other attendees joining together remotely from across Scotland and around the world. On Saturday, 22 May there will be an opening session at 10 am, including the installation of the Moderator, and an afternoon session at 1 pm. The General Assembly will close on the Thursday afternoon. Pray for the new Moderator, Lord Wallace, as he takes up this ministry.

Scottish Parliamentary Elections

Pray for the outcome of the election at the beginning of May. Our country appears quite divided and it looks as if this will only intensify, whatever the result of the election. Pray for the peace of Christ to be the guiding principle in our relations with one another, to show each other respect and kindness in ongoing political debate.
