A Letter of Thanks

10 December 2021

To Office Bearers, Members and Friends of Cramond Kirk:

Dear Friends,

I am writing as the Interim Moderator of the Old Kirk and Muirhouse Church congregation to offer a warm ‘thank you’ to members and friends of Cramond Kirk for the generous contributions which enable us to support the most vulnerable in the Muirhouse and West Pilton areas of our city.

In particular I wish to convey thanks for your decision to remit the proceeds of your 2021 National Giving Day donations to us for this work.

Contributions both in money and in gifts are distributed by our Pastoral Assistant, Helen Fisher, and she receives many warm comments from those who benefit from your generosity. These include:

From families:

‘The fuel card you’ve given means that we won’t worry about not having electricity over the school holidays.’

‘O great … I can now buy a whole turkey and this year we can have a real family Christmas dinner.’

From the vulnerable elderly – after receiving one of the packs we prepare of cereal, milk, soup, oatmeal biscuits, tins of meat, potatoes, vegetables, custard and fruit:

‘Thank you for the parcel … it means we don’t have to be hungry if it’s too cold or icy to get to the shops.’

Please accept the thanks of all who benefit in our communities!

With warm good wishes for the Festive Season,

Rev. Douglas Nicol.
